Small Wide Shallow Bowl
I try to turn pieces while the wood is still green, it's easier on the tools and more forgiving. Sometimes you just do a rough turning and then pack it away for a few months in a paper bag fill with wood shavings. Other times you turn it all the way and see what happens. One of the fun aspects of doing it that way is seeing how the shape changes as it dries. That's where this piece falls . . . It's a slightly warped shallow bowl that sits flat on a surface. It's either side of 5" wide and 1" tall, depending on where you measure it. It's a cute little quirky thing.
