Large Box Elder Bowl

Box Elder is and incredibly beautiful wood to work with. It has a mild yellow color with stunning red highlights around a knot. I was able to preserve a part of the bark that was an indentation. It stand 4 1/2" high, almost 9 1/2" wide at the top and the base is 4 1/2". Although the base is somewhat small it is a very stable bowl due to ample weight at the bottom. A walnut oil and beeswax finish give it a satin sheen.
